Fallon man faces trafficking charge

A Fallon man appeared Thursday in Justice Court on numerous charges including drug trafficking.

Edward Allen faces five felony charges including trafficking in a controlled substance, 28 grams or more, and commission of an unauthorized act relating to a controlled substance.

According to the criminal complaint, Allen was arrested by the Fallon Tribal Police after a traffic stop on Dec. 13.

Upon a search, authorities discovered more than 28 grams (just under 1 ounce) of methamphetamine.

During his arraignment, Allen said he hired Reno attorney Cotter Conway, but Conway would not be available to attend any hearing until after Jan. 1.

Allen, who was released on his own recognizance during a previous hearing, will appear for a status hearing on Jan. 8.

He also faces possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Police located a set of weight gloves with lead in the knuckles.

In other court news —

Chelsie Nicole Galdarisi agreed to a plea deal for two felonies Tuesday in District Court to resolve three cases.

She entered a guilty plea to one count of possession of a stolen vehicle and one count of fraudulent acts concerning gaming.

Galdarisi was originally facing six felony counts, but the deal allows for her to be released on her own recognizance and enter a drug treatment program. Upon entering a program, she must report daily to Court Services for drug and alcohol testing.

Her attorney, Byron Bergeron, also asked to push her sentencing date so his client could spend more time in treatment. In addition, the program at New Frontier or Step 2 in Reno are better equipped to handle a high-risk pregnancy.

Galdarisi said she is in her first term of the pregnancy and has been clean for about 16 weeks.

Her first run in with law enforcement came on May 15 when she was arrested for allegedly possessing a stolen vehicle, a 2014 Chevy Cruz.

On Aug. 6, Galdarisi was arrested for burglary, uttering a forged instrument and forgery.

According to the documents, Galdarisi is suspected of altering a check in the amount of $28.19 to $88.10, entered Stockman’s Casino with the intent to obtain money under false pretenses and uttered the forged check at the casino.

One month later, Galdarisi was booked on one count of fraudulent acts concerning gaming for attempting to cash out a voucher for $300, “which was greater than the amount won.”
