Obamacare changes show more trouble

Obamacare keeps hitting one snag after another. With each delay, Nevadans are not surprised that the Obama Administration runs the ball three times and punts.

Many Nevadans from all walks of life and all political persuasions are now wishing every Senate and every House member read the bill in 2009 to see what the Obama Administration shoved down the country’s throat.

Now, another delay is upon us after the Obama Administration grants another extension to employers focusing on the requirement that medium-to-large businesses cover their employees or be fined. The newest mandate allows companies with 50-99 employees until January 2016 to comply with the coverage requirements. Businesses with fewer than 50 employees are not required to comply. As reported by numerous trade associations and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, many businesses are reluctant to hire that 50th employee, thus slowing down any expansion.

How convenient that this latest ACA change-of-the week change — now standing at 27 — comes after the fall elections whereby Democrats are nervous about their chances of losing the Senate and yielding more seats in the House to the Republicans. Every change coming before us is politically sneaky.

What is troubling, though, is that Congress passed ACA as a bill; therefore, the legislative branch must be the ones instituting change, not the administration.

This week’s change comes on the heels of last week’s revelation by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office that the law will give millions of people an opportunity to work fewer hours “because they won’t be stuck in jobs just for the sake of keeping health insurance they get from employees.” By 2021, the CBO predicts the equivalent of 2.8 million full-time jobs will be reduced by people seeking fewer hours to receive those additional subsidies for their health care insurance.

How nice. Americans will have less incentive to work less while slopping more meal from the government trough, which in turn, is funded by additional taxpayer dollars. So, is the new work week for many slackers going to be 30 hours instead of 40? Apparently so.

Americans are growing tired with the changes, the poorly designed ACA website, the lies insurers can keep their doctors and coverage and so on.

Congress hoodwinked Americans with a bill of sale after passing Obamacare five years ago. Perhaps the only one laughing now is Bernie Madoff, the man behind the biggest Ponzi scheme in U.S. history unless the Obama Administration pulls out more deceptive tricks from its hat before the November elections and outdoes Madoff.

For Madoff, however, at least he is happily receiving Obamacare while being a slacker in prison ….
