RENO — Ormat Technologies, Inc., said Tuesday that Isaac Angel will join Ormat on April 1 and become the geothermal company’s chief executive officer on July 1.

Angel was appointed by the Ormat board of directors and will succeed Yehudit (Dita) Bronicki, who announced last November that she would be retiring from her active leadership role.

She will continue to serve as a director at Ormat in a non-executive capacity, according to a company news release.

Angel, 57, has a background at Lipman Electronics Engineering Ltd., that includes serving as president and CEO until it was acquired by VeriFone Holdings, Inc. He was executive vice president for global operations at VeriFone, executive chairman of LeadCom Integrated Solutions Ltd., is a director of Frutarom Industries Ltd., and was a director for Retalix Ltd. in 2012 until it was acquired in 2013.

Angel also has been active in managing his own investments and supporting philanthropic endeavors in recent years, according to the Ormat release.

Bronicki called Angel a proven leader and Gillon Beck, Ormat’s board chairman, added that Angel is talented, experienced and a visionary executive.

“Ormat,” said Angel, “is well positioned to generate strong growth on both the electricity and products sides of its business.”
