Wetlands and Wings is the youth education division of the Friends of Stillwater, an NWR 501 c3 nonprofit group.
This is the fourth year of the youth event that includes education workshops, shooting clinic and a mentored hunt at the Lahontan Valley Bird Dog Club near Fallon.
This is a free event for children ages 10-17 years old, and no prior hunting/shooting experience required.
Youth 12 years and older need a Nevada hunt license or appprentice license (available at www.ndow.org or any NDOW office).
All gear is provided (guns, shells, vest, safety equipment).
Half-day shotgun shooting clinic held Sunday March 2 at Fallon Trap Club.
Education workshop and lunch on March 8 include upland bird identification, field safety and hunt etiquette and working with bird dogs.
Mentored chukar hunt the afternoon of March 8.

Applications are due Wednesday by 12 noon to the refuge office (email, mail, in person or fax to 775-423-0416). Successful applicants will be notified by Thursday.
