Chrissy, left, and Jeff Krueger are all smiles after welcoming their daughter, Lilly, into the world on Jan. 1.
What better way to bring in the New Year than with a bang ... or a birth?
While most individuals were out celebrating the New Year, Fallon residents Jeff and Chrissy Krueger stayed at home and celebrated with some close friends.
“We just got done watching the ball drop and about 15 minutes later my water broke,” Chrissy Krueger said. “That was something we were not expecting since my due date wasn’t ‘til the 12.”
A healthy baby girl, Lilly Santina was born at 2:26 p.m. New Year’s Day, weighing seven pounds and 19 inches long. Chrissy Krueger said it’s neat that her daughter was born at that time because she was born at 2:26 a.m.
“Lilly was a name that both Jeff and I have liked for quite some time and Santina is my grandmothers name.” Chrissy Krueger said.
“It’s exciting having the first baby of the New Year for Churchill County,” Jeff Krueger said. “It’s was a great New Years surprise and we’re still over whelmed with joy.”
Lilly is the first child for the couple who have been married since 2008.
“We’re tremendously blessed,” Chrissy Krueger said warmly looking down at her daughter. “We are looking forward to the new journey the three of us are about to start.”
Banner Hospital representatives were thrilled to have a New Year’s baby. The hospital presented the couple with a gift bag full of baby items and a dinner for two at the Slanted Porch for having the first and only New Year’s Day baby in Churchill County.
The couple has resided in Churchill County since March 2013 when they moved from Lemoore, Calf. Jeff Krueger is a pilot for the Navy and is currently stationed at Naval Air Station Fallon, and Chrissy Krueger is a dental hygienist.
The couple is looking forward to the joys of parenthood and the memories that will follow. Both mother and child are doing great and went home on Thursday.
