The Nevada WildCats Yellow and Blue squads reached the finals in their respective age groups last weekend at Incline Village, only to be rained out in the championship games.
The Yellow squad went 1-0-2 in pool play, beating Starfire, 17-0, and tying 2-2, and 5-5. The locals beat Roseville 7-5 on Sunday and were down 2-0 against the Santa Clara Star Fire when rain canceled the tournament.
Kaitlyn Jimmy, who threw a no-hitter in the 17-0 win, gave up just two earned runs in three Saturday games. The earned run streak came to an end when Jimmy allowed a homer in the seventh in the 2-2 tie.
Bailey Henderson went 6-for-13 and Bailey Barcellos went 5-for-12 to lead the offense. Tara Tyler and Valarie Quam both went 4-for-11 and Aalyiah Paxson was 4-for-9.
The Blue squd lost 5-2 to the Reno Stealth, 9-1 to the Star Fire and 6-2 to TNT. On Sunday, the WildCats beat TNT, 14-2, to reach the finals. The title game was called off in the fifth.
Caitlyn Folkers went 6-for-13 to lead the Blue offense. Erica Watson went 5-for-13. Meliah Grizoffi pitched well on Sunday before rain washed out the game.

• Marc Menzes collected 14 points to win Flight A at the Carson Valley Men’s Club Stableford tournament on July 20. Marc Prause was second with nine points and Tim Davis was third with seven.
Roger Hala won Flight B with 17 followed by Charles Serafine (13) and Mike Davis eight. Dave Morris won Flight C with 18, Jim Mason was second with 12 and Chuck Householder was third with 10. John Watson won Flight D with 18 and Jack Zippwald was second with 15.
• The Rally for the Cure tournament is set for July 29 at Carson Valley. The four-person scramble event is open to women and men. Maxwell group wins
tourney at Empire
Roger Maxwell, Dino Dicianno, Ken Stone and Mike Rogers combined for a net 111 to win Flight A in the four-man two best ball tournament July 16 at Wildcrek Golf Course in Reno.
Robey Willis, Duanne Carroll, Geoff Swann and Dennis Justin were second at 112 and John Masiello, Nick Paul, John Lewis and Gary Mick were third at 114.
Phil Polaske, Nils Sharpe, Rudy Hammond and Phil King won Flight B with a 112, 15 shots better than Bill Hetherton, Dale Guy, Dick Brownfield and Marty Martinez. Jack Medeiros, Maurice Dias, Dick Blankenship and Steve Scharfe were third at 128.
Butler 3rd at
Wolf Run tourney
Carson High’s Dalton Butler was third at Monday’s Northern Nevada Junior Golf Association event at Wolf Run Golf Club in Reno. The tourney was shortened to nine holes because of weather.
Butler shot a 1-over-par 37, a stroke behind Griffin Cooper and Narayan Gill. Carson’s Danny Manning tied for 12th with a 43.
