Carson City Library’s 2014 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs, prize drawings, story hours, a reading club, a Read-to-Me portion for families and more.
Registration for the Summer Reading Program has begun and continues Saturday at the annual Kiwanis Breakfast for Books, which offers pancakes, sausage, eggs, juice and coffee.
Breakfast will be served from 8 to 10 a.m. on the library’s lawn. Chris Bayer will provide entertainment, and there will be face painting and a book sale sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Carson City and Friends of the Carson City Library.
Tickets can be purchased at the event and cost is $6 for adults, $3 for kids and $15 for families. Kiwanis will donate proceeds from the breakfast to the library’s Youth Department.
