The circus is coming! A letter was received yesterday form Mr. Marry Larkyns, agent for John Wilson’s Palace Amphitheater Circus, and informs us that entertainment will shortly come to Carson. Larkyns always provides the best to be had; and we are fully prepared to believe the Sacramento Union when it says Wilson is at the head of the best company he has ever taken through the state.

Genoa is making preparations for the biggest Fourth of July blowout in the memory of the oldest Genoese. Carson has made no move in the matter and the way things now look Carson will go up and be neighborly with Genoa.

100 years ago

To witness “Omar, the Tentmaker” at the Majestic next Friday evening the Virginia and Truckee company will run the motor special from Carson City to Reno, leaving this city at 6:45 and returning at 11:30.

Major Robert McLeod, brother of Wayne McLeod of Carson, was the wing leader heading B-26 squadrons which led the attack on the European continent.

Veteran newspaper publisher Bob Brown, known as probably “the best newsman in the state of Nevada,” dies in his home at the age of 53. Brown was the publisher of the North Las Vegas Valley Times.
