Nixdorf completes aquatic fitness course

Starr Nixdorf of Paradise Salon-Spa-Wellness completed the Aquatic Exercise Association’s Aquatic Fitness Professional course on June 1 in Visalia, Calif.

Nixdorf also studied Upper Body, Core & More and AquaBata Shallow, which incorporates Tabata in water.

Former Black Hawk pilot presents June 18

Elizabeth McCormick, a former Black Hawk helicopter pilot, will be featured at Reno/Carson/Tahoe eWomenNetwork’s dinner meeting from 5 to 8:15 p.m. June 18 at Grand Sierra Resort in Reno.

McCormick received the Meritorious Service Medal for her excellence in service. She retired from the military in 2001 after a career-ending injury. She now inspires audiences with stories from her years as a pilot and turns them into lessons her audiences can understand and use. Her presentation will cover empowerment, inspiration and focus; a greater belief in self; determination of what success means and more.

Doors open with informal networking at 4:30 p.m. The cost is $60. The evening includes dinner, structured networking and a business expo. No-host cocktails, wine and beer will be available. Vendor display tables also are available.

Bean honored for outstanding customer service

Bobby Bean, an American Family Insurance agent in Carson City, has been recognized for providing outstanding customer service under the American Star Excellence in Customer Experience certification.

The service excellence distinction was determined through an evaluation process conducted under guidelines established through the American Star Excellence in Customer Experience certification. The process consists of a customer satisfaction survey which measures customers’ overall experience. Only agencies that perform in the top 20 percent of all insurance agencies nationwide, based on customer satisfaction surveys, are eligible to become American Star Excellence in Customer Experience certified.

Bean has been an agent for American Family since Dec., 2011. His office is located at 2085 E. William St., Suite 20.
