The Warm Springs Hotel and Baths, under the careful management of Messrs Lachappelle, are in excellent condition and worthy the reputation they bear. They have determined to make it one of the most desirable places of resort in any country. We congratulate the public that they are in such excellent hands (the old Nevada State Prison, before it became a prison).

There is a team of six men in Genoa that challenge any other six men in the state for a contest in the Tug of War on the Fourth of July on the picnic grounds. Does any team in the state wish to accept the challenge? — Courier.

100 years ago

The Beaver baseball team, with rooters 25 strong, hiked to Silver City this morning to play a team of that camp, but after arrival found there was a mix up with no team to play. The umpire awarded the game to Virginia, 9-0, which was some compensation to the boys in a fighting mood after their long walk over the burning sands of Gold Canyon.

70 years ago

Reno headquarters of the war bond drive committee announced the appointment of Raby J. Newton as Ormsby County chairman in charge of the fifth war loan drive.

50 years ago

Two entries in from Carson City won top honors in their respective divisions in the Carson Valley Days parade held Saturday in Gardnerville. The Carson City Chamber of Commerce, a big birthday cake with Miss Carson City, Jackie Darrigrand, was named best in the non-commercial section. The Ormsby County 4-H Club got the nod as the best out of town group.

30 years ago

As part of Carson City Wagon Train Days and the Stewart Indian Pow-Wow, there will be a wagon train attack at the south end of Carson City. The time is a secret.
