Rep. Mark Amodei, R-NV., has hired four new staff members — three of them in his Reno office including longtime western Nevada official Bernie Curtis.
Curtis recently retired as head of the Nevada Division of Parole and Probation. Before that, he was a Douglas County Commissioner.
Curtis will serve part-time as Amodei’s local government representative.
No reason for the staff changes was given.
In addition, Tracy Soliday of Reno will take over the job of constituent services in the Reno office.
She’s a former regional representative for ex-Sen. John Ensign and more recently oversaw public relations at the Silver Legacy resort in Reno.
Ken Brooke of Reno will also serve as a part-time constituent services representative in Reno. He’s currently an economics major at the University of Nevada, Reno. He will focus on issues including Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
Finally, Lauren Currie of Reno will serve as legislative correspondent in Amodei’s Washington D.C. office. She was an intern in that office last summer.
In addition, Amodei announced four summer interns for his Reno and Washington offices including Kenny Tedford of Fallon. He along with Austin Slaughter and Zach Boyden of Reno will work in the Reno office. Erin Collins of Pleasanton, Calif., will intern in the Washington office.
