LAS VEGAS — A Las Vegas judge aired concerns about the mental state of a 34-year-old mother accused of trying to kill her two children by throwing them out a window, and gave attorneys time to review medical records before an Aug. 27 preliminary hearing.

Luz Robledo Ibarra was in a wheelchair Monday for her initial court appearance on attempted murder and felony child abuse causing substantial bodily harm charges.

Her lawyer, Benson Lee, says he intends to file written documents seeking her release on bail from the Clark County jail.

Robledo Ibarra suffered a broken pelvis and other injuries allegedly throwing herself out the same window as her 1½-year-old daughter and 7-month-old son early June 12.

Lee says Robledo Ibarra may have experienced postpartum depression since her baby was born in November.
