The Clean Dried Processing plant at Silver Springs beginning operations in June is a Northern Nevada subsidiary of LaBudde Group Inc., based in Wisconsin, according to the Northern Nevada Development Authority.
Clean Drive Processing was announced last week as going into a plant of about 150,000 square feet at Silver Springs in Lyon County with up to 20 employees expected for initial operations, but other details were sketchy. On Monday, NNDA issued a release saying it is a subsidiary of LaBudde Group, which has been in Wisconsin since 1907, and will employ from 10 to 20 initially.
It specializes in processing clean food waste into dried ingredients for livestock feed and pet food, and has been operating in 10 locations. The firm processes anything from apple pulp to wheat grain, and everything in between,” according to NNDA. The firm, according to its website, began in Milwaukee processing byproducts from breweries but later moved and is based now in Grafton, Wis.
“When Clean Dried Pocessing’s new facility begins operation in June, the plant will be used to dry, grind, package and distribute several different product offerings,” said NNDA.
“This will be a big boost to the Silver Springs area,” said Rob Hooper, NNDA executive director.
The release indicated it would help Lyon County’s need for jobs because the county had the highest unemployment rate in the state last December at 12 percent.
