The family members of a Carson City man who was struck on U.S. Highway 50 near Stateline in the early morning Aug. 10 still seek answers in the case.

Cody J. Dobson, 31, was walking on the highway, or may have stumbled from the adjacent sidewalk, just east of the MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa about 3:13 a.m. before a vehicle struck him.

Witnesses said the vehicle that hit Dobson was possibly either a dark-blue or dark-green full-size Dodge crew cab pickup. The lower portion of the pickup was accented with silver-colored or grey paint, witnesses said. Dobson was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe, then was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. He died from his injuries nearly two weeks later. Dobson’s blood-alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit for drivers when he was struck.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Secret Witness in Douglas County at 775-782-7463 or Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Doug Hildebrand at 775-689-4623 or dhildebrand@dps.state.nv.us.
