Millward joins Houghton Jones in Minden

The law firm of Houghton Jones, APC., has expanded its office and services by relocating to Minden, and has added a new associate attorney, Michael G. Millward, Esq.

Millward has years of experience in debt negotiations, bankruptcy and business litigation in both federal and state court. He received his juris doctorate from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2008, completing courses for a business law emphasis.

He lives in Carson Valley with his wife Marsha and is active with his three young children, Boy Scouts and church.

Houghton Jones is located at 1625 Highway 88, Suite 304 in Minden, directly across from Douglas High School.

Millward will expand the firm’s areas of practice to include debtor’s rights and bankruptcy, which compliments the firm’s existing practice in estate planning, elder law and asset protection.

Fletcher named director of sales at Ametherm

Renee Fletcher will be responsible for developing short and long-term strategies in her new role as director of sales at Ametherm.

Fletcher brings more than 20 years of experience in the electronics industry to the company. She began her career as an inside sales rep with RTI Electronics, and nine years later she joined its management team as its national sales manager. She comes to Ametherm from API Technologies, where as product manager she was instrumental in ensuring profit growth and product line expansion for the company.

Fletcher holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Laverne. She is based at Ametherm headquarters in Carson City.


Gender communication topic of meeting

Andrea Jones will talk about gender communication at eWomenNetwork Reno/Carson/Tahoe Chapter’s dinner meeting from 5 to 8:15 p.m. March 19 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno. Doors open with informal networking at 4:30 p.m.

Jones will review the differences in communication styles between men and women; how to avoid communication mistakes that can affect an individual’s bottom and questions to ask before starting conversations with the opposite gender.

With more than 15 years of experience as the only woman in Europe heading a professional men’s basketball team, being the business manager for a professional men’s hockey team and leading the sports ticket sales for an international ticket company, Jones now gives keynotes and workshops internationally. She is the executive managing director of eWomenNetwork in Dallas/Fort Worth.

Admission costs $40 for eWomenNetwork members, $50 for nonmembers and $60 beginning March 15. The evening includes dinner, structured networking and a business expo. No-host cocktails, wine and beer will be available. Vendor display tables are also available.
