When Carson City’s new Bealls family apparel store holds a grand opening at the Carson Mall in six weeks, free tote bags for initial customers and a chance at a $500 shopping spree will be on the line.
A ribbon-cutting is set for 8:45 a.m. on April 24 at the mall, 1345 N. Carson St., with store doors slated to open 15 minutes later.
“The first customers in line on Thursday, April 24, will receive free fashion tote bags while supplies last,” according to a news release from the Texas-based Stage Stores, Inc., which has Bealls and other chain department stores in 40 states.
There will be a live radio remote the next day, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with giveaways to entice family members, and shoppers will be able to register to win the $500 shopping spree or other prizes throughout the grand opening weekend, which will run April 24-27. A sokesperson said there will be one winner of the spree.
Michael Glazer, president and CEO of Stage Stores, said Carson City deserves a “store that delivers exciting fashion and well known national brands of clothes, shoes, cosmetics, accessories and home decor.” He said Bealls, one of five nameplates under which Stage Stores operate in 848 locations, “is that store.”
The other four names for Stage Stores outlets are Goody’s Palais Royal, Peebles and Stage.
The Carson City outlet, which will co-anchor the mall in 20,000 square feet of space near the Sportsman’s Warehouse outfitter opening in 40,000 square feet at the mall about three weeks from now, is the 218th Bealls store nationally.
Stage Stores Inc., Bealls’ parent company, trades on the New York Stock Exchange and shares closed Tuesday at $25.16, up 39 cents.
