The Fallon swim teams had a strong showing at last week’s Northern Nevada Invitational.
The event featured swimmers from all Northern schools who compete in swimming in a varsity and JV meet.
Kyle Grimes showed his talent in the sprints as the junior won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.09 seconds, just ahead of South Tahoe’s Brady McIntyre (24.16).
In the 100 free, Grimes took third (54.31) and was nipped by Sage Ridge’s Calvin Ruyak (54.19). Chris Miller of Sage Ridge won the event in 50.13.
Katrina Ward also had a solid showing with a fifth-place finish in the 200 free (2:24.10), while Garrett Snooks took eighth in the 200 individual medley (2:52.33).
Josey Moore added a ninth-place finish in the 200 IM (3:08.16), while Kaelehn Nemeth was 11th in the 50 free (29.57) and Davis Koenig took 10th in the 100 backstroke (1:33.07).
The boys 200 free relay team of Snooks, Louie Mori, Nathan Narag and Grimes nabbed fourth (1:50.69), while the girls 400 free relay team of Ward, Moore, Bivens and Nemeth placed third (4:46.66).
In the JV meet, Amber Revels put on a show. She won the 50 butterfly (36.88), placed second in the 100 free (1:12.69) and teamed with Tia Owens, Michelle Ward and Danielle Brown to win the 100 free relay (1:04.94). The foursome also took second in the 100 medley relay with a mark of 1:11.72.
Brown added another win in the 50 breaststroke (41.69), while Ward was second in the 200 free (3:10.13) and Owens was fourth in the 50 backstroke (40.63).
William Reece nabbed second in the 100 free (1:05.72) followed by Haydn Klein in fourth (1:07.97) and Nick Amerson in fifth (1:11.84).
Brown was also fourth in the 50 free (32.60) and Owens took sixth (32.97).
Fallon returns to the pool on May 10 in Fernley.
