Students from the Rising Sun Art Studios who entered the 2014 Nevada Federal Junior Duck Design Contest are Jackson Riley, Andrew Riley, Maegan Chronister, Madeline Chronister, Ellena Duncan and Adam Chronister.
Seventeen art students attending Rising Sun Art Studios represented Churchill County in the 2014 Nevada Federal Junior Duck Design Contest and received congratulations from Conservation through the Arts, U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service from Susan Sawyer, visitor service manager of the Stillwater NWR complex.
Approximately 532 students from across the state qualified.
Results from Rising Sun and Art Studios:
First place, Brynn Turner. Group III, final round for the Best of Show, second runner-up. Brynn was in the final round selection of five from all first-place winners across the state for the Best of Show and was second runner-up.
Second place, Kristen Coblentz, Group II.
Honorable Mention, Sequoya Casey, Group II.
Honorable Mention, Benjamin Wiese and Micah Wiese, Group IV.
The following students qualified for the contest and received certificates of appreciation.
Group 1: Maegan Chronister, Thalia DeLaCruz, Ellena Duncan, Zebulin Piel, Jackson Riley.
Group II: Adam Chronister, Madelyn Chronister, Grace Holdiman, Oliver Piel, Andrew Riley.
