An unpleasantness of the celestial sort took place at Sam Sing’s place, near Muller’s saloon. The lusty old ham-colored ironer of the establishment jerked the tail off the pale and jabbering Chinese man that he was fighting with. There was no arrest ... it was all over the pulling of a queue.

Miss Grace Maude Atherton, an 86-year-old native of Carson City and original employees of the Nevada Industrial Commission, has passed away. She was born in Carson City on September 29, 1877 and resided her entire life at 722 E. Caroline in Carson. She taught at Huffaker School and the Stewart School. A niece, G. Patricia Browell, Sausalito, Calif., is her only surviving relative.
