Cheers & Kudos: Fishing derby was a success

Thanks for the donations to the 2014 Kid’s Fishing Derby, which is this weekend at Lampe Park in Gardnerville, May 31 and June 1.

Once again some of our local businesses and the Ormsby Sportmen’s Association gathered 15 brand new rod and reels, seven of which came with tackle combos which are given away as prizes, along with 12 reconditioned rod and reels for those who need them as loner poles. Also we gave a tackle box with lots of hooks, spools of line, sinkers, and bobbers.

I would like to thank Terry at the Blue Bull, Ed at Ed’s Doghouse, Cheryl at Goodi’s Fresh Squeezed Lemonade, and Cheryl at Sand and Sage for donating year after year to keep smiles on the kids’ faces. Grab the kids and win some great prizes besides having a good time to remember.
