Education achievements: Yerington man included in university’s recital

Nick Harding of Yerington will perform at a chamber music recital on Nov. 2 at Concordia University, Nebraska, in Seward, Neb.

Harding, a senior at the university, is part of the brass ensemble, which will perform a Beethoven piece during the program.

Area natives excel in forensics competition

The Linfield College forensics team, which includes Dayton’s Ellie Forness and Fallon’s Lacie McElvain, competed against 54 schools during this year’s Steve Hunt Classic on Oct. 10-12 at Lewis & Clark College in Portland.

Ellie Forness, a junior, and Lacie McElvain, a sophomore, were finalists in novice British parliamentary debate.
