LAS VEGAS — Nevada voters may be going to the polls in record low numbers.
The Secretary of State reports that as of 3:30 p.m., almost 430,000 ballots had been cast in Tuesday’s election.
That includes early voters statewide, and 11 of 17 counties reporting Tuesday votes, including Clark and Washoe.
The total so far is a little more than 35 percent of active registered voters in the state.
Turnout hasn’t ended up this low since at least 1980.
Turnout in the midterm elections of 1998 totaled 49 percent.
Polls are open until 7 p.m.
