Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for July 12. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:
Elks Lodge, 515 N. Nevada St., scored 100 points.
Yang’s Kitchen, 111 E. Telegraph St., scored 85 points. Cooked breaded chicken and chopped vegetables were stored at room temperature. Both hand wash sinks were inaccessible and without soap. The hand wash sinks were also being used for purposes other than hand washing. Thermometers were not found in all the cold holding units. Foods on the cook line and in the refrigerator were uncovered. Food debris and build-up were found in the refrigerator’s gaskets and behind its handles. Floors under the cook line and around the fryer were dirty with a thick build-up of food debris and grease. The ventilation hood had excessive grease build-up.
