Jan. 2, 1935 - Oct. 7, 2014

George Ronald Davis Sr., (Ron), Carson City, NV, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 7, 2014 after a long, courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. There are no words to express our immense pain of grief as we had to say goodbye to an exceptional father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. We are blessed as a family to have had our dad for almost 80 years. He arrived on this beautiful earth on January 2, 1935 to parents George Ronald Davis Sr. and Harriett Davis in San Francisco, CA. Ron was married to Joan Wickersheimer Davis for 47 years and together they had 5 children. Ron worked for Joseph George Liquor Distributing, delivering wine and beer to many restaurants and stores up and down the crazy streets of San Francisco, eventually becoming one of the big bosses for 20 years until the company closed in the late 80’s. He and his wife opened up several successful businesses including Diet Centers in Northern CA which kept them busy for many years. In 1991 they opened a little deli/market or as Ron called it “Mom and Pop” store in Woodacre, CA. He found the store for sale in the newspaper which was in God’s Country, and he and his family were blessed to have met such wonderful people in this quaint little town by the ocean. He later retired in the town of Galt, CA. Ron was preceded in death by two of his children, daughter, Dawne Davis and son, Scott Davis. He is survived by his longtime girlfriend Jan Mumford of Carson City and his three children, Ron Davis Jr. (Faye), Robin MacDonald (Bruce) and Kerry Davis (Michael). Three grandchildren, Erica Davis Shields (Dave), Ryan Davis, Meghan MacDonald and two great-grandchildren Vacey and Jacob. Ron had many friends in Carson City where he lived for the past 8 years and enjoyed his days playing golf and pool with his buddies. We are who we are today because of this amazing father and the love he gave throughout his entire life. He gave his children a blessed childhood which followed into their adult lives and nothing could replace this great man who worked so very hard to take care of his family and give them what he never had. We love you Dad, breathe easy, we know that you are not suffering as you are in God’s hands. Friends and Family, please join us for a Celebration of Life service to be held on Sat., Nov. 15th at 3:00 pm at the Quail Run Senior Resort Club House, 1160 Gambrel Way, Carson City.
