Kyra Fields, a fifth-grader at Fritsch Elementary School, holds her prize after winning the Name The Beast contest for the Friends of the Library’s Browsers Corner Book Store.

For her winning entry, ‘The Beast of Knowledge … Keeper of the Words,’ Kyra won a stack of books, a certificate for one free book of her choice each month for a year at the book store and a coupon donated by Round Table Pizza.

Other second and third place winners will also receive books and more for their imaginative entries.

‘If you haven’t yet seen the ‘Beast,’ come to the Browsers Corner Book Store at 711 East Washington Street, just across from the Carson City Library,’ said Frieda Ford, of Friends of the Carson City Library. ‘Our donation drop box has been magically transformed into a colorful beast by Vital Signs of Carson City.’
