LAS VEGAS — Rep. Steven Horsford says he would consider running for Congress again after his loss to Republican Cresent Hardy.
Horsford told the Las Vegas Sun Monday that the outcome would have been different if more voters went to the polls.
His 4th Congressional District leans Democratic, but low turnout that leaned Republican helped Hardy pull ahead 49 percent to 46 percent.
Horsford says he’s proud of his campaign and has no regrets about what his team did to communicate with voters.
The one-term Democratic congressman was expected to win until about two weeks before the election, when early voting statistics revealed lackluster Democratic turnout.
Conservative group Crossroads GPS then poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into the race.
Horsford says he’s still deciding what to do once his term ends.
