Ball at Warm Springs. This is the night when Terpsichore will reign supreme over the destines and ceremonies of the Warm Springs Hotel — a brilliant, hilarious and decorous party there. It will be characterized by total freedom from things, events and objectionable persons. It will be patronized by the most desirable people of Carson, Empire and have the best music. Messrs. Kersey and Bowdon will set out a sumptuousness supper. A carriage will run from principal hotels.

Carson craze. The leaf album craze has broken out in Carson. Young ladies gather autumn leaves and produce beautiful engravings by a printing process — then bind the prints in books.

Haunted. Jim Jefferies was in town playing Davy Crockett and was visited by the ghost of Frank Mayo as Davy Crockett. He was told to always remember the press and pay his bills. The actor paid no heed to the warning, and it is now alleged that he is haunted nightly ... and urged to settle the account.

The average price for self-serve regular gas in Carson City was $1.39. In Reno it was $1.42.
The only city with an increase was Las Vegas at $1.42, a one-cent increase.
