Recipe for scarlet fever cure. Mr. J. C. McTarnahan said that his recipe for the cure of scarlet fever has cured several children of his own and his neighbors. The medicine is prescribed in tablespoonful-doses every hour until vomiting sets in. The recipe: 5 grains each of sulphate of zinc and powdered foxglove, two tablespoons of white sugar, put all in a bottle and add 15 ounces of soft water; let it stand a few hours, and it is fit for use. The treatment is prescribed in accordance with the rules of good nursing. For the sore mouth, use a mixture made of honey, gunpowder and burnt alum.

Paiute-Washoe conference. War is eminent if the Washoe tribe does not surrender the Washoe murderer to the Paiutes. The two tribes assembled near the old circus grounds and deliberated ... most of them smoking cigarettes that were passed from mouth to mouth like a peace pipe. The conference lasted for hours. It is believed the Washoes will give up the murderer.

The airport runway at Silver Springs operated by Hale and Kay Bennett will remain unpaved. Congress did not include airport improvements in the FAA budget.

Hale Bennett has sought grants for six years and will continue lobbying to pave the airport.
