Students in David Palmer’s culinary arts classes at Dayton High School made 127 pies Tuesday for the holidays — one for each student.
“It’s a tradition that I have carried for each of the 11 years of the program,” Palmer said. “My thought in making the pies is that not all of the students in my program have as happy a Thanksgiving as they should. This is simply my way of helping to spread a little holiday cheer. I know not all of them make it home, but I like to believe that enough of them do that it makes a difference.”
