City Council members met for their first regularly scheduled meeting of October on Tuesday to approve items.

Approved Minh Tran for an on premise liquor license for VN-PHO at 1770 West Williams Avenue.

Approved contract for city of Fallon Project 14-04, surface treatment of various streets.

Approved Industrial Wastewater pretreatment agreement with Diary Farmers of America.

CEDA breakfast

The October CEDA Business Council Breakfast meeting is Wednesday at Stockman’s The Steakhouse beginning at 7 a.m.

Scam alert

Possible Phone Scam Warning! The Churchill County Sheriff’s Office has received information that Fernley residents have been called by a person claiming to represent the IRS.

One person was told he owed $2,000 in back taxes and, if the taxes weren’t paid by certain time, the bank accounts would be seized.

The IRS advises any tax issues in writing. Please do not provide your information or pay any money to callers like this.
