Lynda Emmons of CIC of Meridian Insurance Services was honored by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors for her ongoing pledge to education, commitment to excellence, and dedication to the insurance profession.
The Society of CIC, the cornerstone program for the National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research, is a non-for-profit organization of insurance professionals.
Emmons was presented with a formally-inscribed certificate of participation in the Certified Insurance Counselors program. Earning her CIC designation and maintaining update requirements for 20 years places her in the top one-percent of all insurance professionals in the country.

Attorney will present at next WISE meeting
Cassandra Jones, an attorney, will present Protecting Myself and My Family from My Business: Using Contracts, Insurance and Business Entities at the next Women Inspiring Service and Education, or WISE, meeting and luncheon on Oct. 23 at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden.
Check in is from 11 a.m. to 11:30; the meeting begins at 11:45 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. The cost is $15 for members with pre-paid reservations and $20 for guests and those who pay at the door.
WISE is hosting its Halloween Business Extravaganza, an event that couples Halloween activities for children with information and business expo booths for adults, from 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 19 in Minden’s CVIC Hall.
There will be more than 30 booths, children’s shows by the Douglas High School drama department, costume parade, haunted house, trick-or-treating, raffle prizes, and a photo booth hosted by Rachel Lomeli Photography.
Tickets cost $7 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger and $15 per family. Admission is free for children 3 and younger. Proceeds go to the Douglas Center for Hope & Healing.
WISE offers education opportunities for women and holds fundraisers for area charities. Meetings are on the fourth Thursday of the month and offer an opportunity for members and guests to meet and network and share ideas and inspiration.
