I.O.R.M. — The regular Councils of Paiute Tribe No. 1 of Carson City are held at the Hall of Capitol Lodge I.O.O.F. on Monday evening of each seven suns. A general attendance of the Chiefs and Brothers is solicited.

The recent discoveries of extensive deposits of copper and silver ore in the northern part of Humboldt County indicate that Nevada has not yet seen her palmiest days, and if the accounts of the prospectors can be relied on, one may expect a revival of the gold old Comstock days.

100 years ago

The suicide Sunday of Marvin J. Blackwell has added another link to the mysterious chain of deaths in this city within the past few months which had to do with occultism, anonymous letters and incendiary fires. First was the death of Mrs. Abbie Cowing at the Robinson Ranch, then the suicide of young Heidenrieich and then the death of Blackwell, following another incendiary fire at his ranch, a mile and a half northwest of town.

After disbanding services some two years ago the local Christian Church will again hold services Sunday in the church building, located at West Telegraph and Minnesota streets.

The minister who comes to lead the congregation is Mr. Harry E. Chapin.

Carson’s homecoming game Friday with Manogue will be followed by a dance sponsored by the Block C Society, Joe Gillie, president, announced today.
