Marvin Pickles of Dayton, Nevada passed away on August 1, 2014 with his loving wife, children and grandchildren at is bedside. He was born August 10, 1933 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to Frank and Eveline Pickles. His family moved from Canada to California in the late 1940’s settling in Los Gatos, California, where he graduated from Los Gatos Union High School in 1954. He married his wife Linda in 1954 and settled in Los Gatos, California where they started a family. And became a sheet metal, heating and air conditioning Journeyman. He proudly became a United States citizen in October 1959. Marvin with his wife and children moved to Dayton, Nevada in 1964, where he started a business Carson Sheet Metal in Carson City which he ran for many years. He also was a 25 year employee of Cavallero Heating. He was active in various community activities, among them 4-H Leader, member of the Dayton PTA and for many years a volunteer fire fighter, Assistant Fire Chief and EMT with the Valley Fire Department and a licensed ambulance attendant with the Dayton Ambulance. He was a member of the Lyon County Democratic Party and the recently restarted Dayton Democratic Party. He also assisted with the Dayton Valley Wildlife Reststop. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hiking, rock hounding and exploring with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed photography and animals. His greatest love and pride was his family. He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, brothers, Grant and Val, also a son Charles and great-grandson Malachai. He has left behind, wife Linda, Children Frank, Evelyn, Marion Millim, Vincente, Grandchildren Donald, Nichole Reeder, Lisa, Dan, Heath Millim and Vanessa Pickles, Great-Grandchildren, Natasha Peach, Devon and Dylan Pickles, Taylor and Zachary Reeder, Adon Millim and Mason Millim. There will be a gathering of love and remembrance for family and friends at a later date.
