Republicans: Get yourself to the polls

During a fundraiser in San Francisco in April 2011, President Obama insisted that how an immigrant comes to be in America — whether by way of “Ellis Island,” that is legally, or by way of the “Rio Grande,” that is illegally —makes no difference as it regards the conferrance of citizenship upon either immigrant.

Of course, Obama’s immigrants of choice are the 11 million illegals hiding out “in the shadows” of America, waiting to be the beneficiaries of the President’s phony equivalency. In turn, the Hispanic monolith will designate the Democratic Party to be the beneficiary of its vote. What a mockery this quid pro quo of political cahoots makes of the years that “Ellis Island” applicants wait in line to become members of the American family.

Having grown impatient with the slow pace of “immigration reform,” it was the President’s plan to use “executive power” to compel the solution. Then, what could go wrong did go wrong. In this case, what went wrong was the thousands and thousands and thousands of illegals from South America pouring over the “Rio Grande” into this country. The incident made the history of the open border issue too conspicuous for the Democratic Party to embrace. Deciding that “discretion was the better part of valor,” the President deferred to the pleas of his party to postpone the use of “executive power” until after the mid-term elections.

The episode of the illegal immigrant invasion attached itself to a number of Obama’s other failures, such as Benghazi, lying about “you can keep your doctor,” the disastrous roll-out of Obamacare, and so on. These blunders have taken a toll on the President’s credibility with the American people. He now has such a low favorability rating that it has made him a Jurassic Park sized size albatross around the necks of any Democratic incumbent – or Democratic newbie – trying to retain or secure political office. Most of them don’t want their illustrious leader anywhere within a light-year of their campaign. Others even refuse to acknowledge that they voted for him.

The president’s and the Democratic Party’s bad news is the best news the Republican Party has had since the presidential election of 2008. Opportunity is knocking its knuckles sore to inform Republicans of the chance to change the political direction of this country.

In Nevada, we do not have a U. S. Senate election, so we will have to count on other states to elect enough Republican senators to carry us to victory. We can, however, elect four Republicans to the U. S. House of Representatives; we can elect a Republican governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, treasurer and controller; we can elect Republican majorities to the Nevada Senate and Assembly; and we can elect more Republicans to our county and city offices.

How do we do that? We must overwhelm the Democrats at the ballot box. We will win this campaign if we get ourselves to the polls and canvass every Republican we know to get out and cast our vote Let’s make winning a must for us!
