The body of one person has been recovered from the debris of a Silver Springs home that burned Friday.
Lyon and Storey County fire crews responded to the blaze shortly after 1 a.m. but, when they arrived, the building was already 50 percent engulfed. It collapsed shortly after and took about three hours to knock the fire down.
In the search that followed, a Central Lyon County Fire District spokesman said one victim was recovered and the body sent to the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s office.
The Nevada State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause and origin of the blaze.
