The Taste of the Valley Food, Art and Music Festival runs from Sept. 11-13 and showcases food, art, music and culture of Mason and Smith Valleys in Lyon County. It’s held at the Jeanne Dini Center in Yerington.
An AgriGALA on Thursday will open the event with an art display and a Taste of the Valley quilt, made by local ladies. will be raffled off.
A ravioli dinner, prepared by Yerington Mayor George Dini, will be served under the stars on Friday, when Cece Gable and the Biggest Little City Slickers will perform.
Saturday’s celebration continues with the 5K Onion Run/Walk and Breakfast, the Josh Farler Foundation Poker Run, salsa and craft beer tasting, Dutch oven cooking demonstrations and plenty of children’s activities and vendors. Busking by Moonlight, Wild Horse Drive and Mojo Green are slated to perform.
The festival culminates with the Taste of the Valley Car Show, sponsored by Team Trailers Plus, on the last day of the event.
The rain or shine antique and classic car show features vehicles of all ages and will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All proceeds go to the Jeanne Dini Center.
