Premier food event focuseson Churchill County offerings

Northern Nevada’s premier local food event returns Saturday to the Lahontan Valley showcasing three of the region’s top culinary experts.

Tickets are on sale now for Tractors & Truffles and features a day of farm tours, wine tasting and fine cuisine topped off with a multi-course dinner prepared and served on-site in Fallon’s beautiful Oats Park.

Chef Ryan Scott — who made his culinary debut on “Top Chef,” and continues his TV career as host of “Food Rush” — returns for an encore performance. The chef and restaurateur joins Mark Davis, chef director of the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of California, San Francisco, as well as Fallon resident and Slanted Porch owner Steve Hernandez.

Attendees at Tractors & Truffles enjoy a full day of food-focused fun beginning at 10:30 a.m. with a tour of Lattin Farms followed by a light lunch prepared on site at the well-known farm. After lunch, guests are shuttled to Churchill Vineyards & Distillery for a wine and cocktail tasting and dessert. A mid-afternoon break in the park allows attendees time to mix and mingle with that evening’s performers, Venice, Calif.-based roots band Dustbowl Revival before preparing for a 5 p.m. beer tasting and dinner service at 5:30 p.m. Dinner features only the freshest ingredients from area farms including produce, meat, dairy and eggs. Dinner is prepared in an outdoor kitchen and attendees enjoy a delicious dinner in an intimate setting of just 125.
