The second County Commission meeting of September will be conducted today at 1:15 p.m. at the Churchill County Administration Building chambers, 155 N. Taylor St.
Among the items commissioners will discuss and that are up for possible action include the following:
Consideration and possible action regarding recognition of employees for their years of service to Churchill County.
Consideration and possible action regarding update of current activities, plans, or actions related to the Carson City District of the Bureau of Land Management, Terri Knutson, Carson City District of the Bureau of Land Management.
Consideration and possible action regarding agreement for school services with the Churchill County Juvenile Probation Department, Tami D. Richardson, chief juvenile probation officer.
Consideration and possible action regarding Community Development Block Grant annual program update and discussion on project priorities, Shannon Ernst, Social Services director.
Consideration and possible action regarding authorization for social services to hire an office intern, Shannon Ernst, Social Services director.
Consideration and possible action regarding Bill 2014-E, Ordinance 53, an ordinance amending Section 8.08.040 of the Churchill County Code renaming the Churchill County Mosquito, Vector Control and Weed Abatement District.
Consideration and possible action regarding update on proposed legislation on the report developed by the Nevada Land Management Task Force.
Consideration and possible action regarding approval of renewal of license from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
Consideration and possible action regarding submittal of comments related to the proposed rule on “Definitions of ‘Water of the United States’ under the Clean Water Act”. Docket No. EPA-HQ-OW-2011-0880.
Consideration and possible action regarding amendment to the Encroachment Protection Agreement between the United States, through the Department of Navy and Churchill County, amending the amount of the Navy’s contribution (75 percent to 90 percent) and the county contribution’s (75 percent to 25 percent) toward acquisition of conservation easements.
Consideration and possible action regarding preliminary draft letter to Gov. Brian Sandoval and the congressional delegation regarding concerns with various BLM field offices’ aggressive and inconsistent enforcement of policies and procedures.
Consideration and possible action regarding request from DeVere Karlson, former chief juvenile probation officer, to participate in Churchill County’s Retirement Incentive Plan and purchase three additional years in PERS.
