The fall season is now in full swing for one of the largest groups of ex-Greenwave stars competing at the next level.
Fifteen former Fallon-student-athletes are in action this season competing in football, volleyball, cross country, golf, tennis and soccer. Of those 15, two are in their senior season, while one is a junior and the rest are sophomores and freshmen.
Senior Caitlynn Marsh is wrapping up her career on the East Coast as she competes in volleyball for Claflin University, an NAIA program in South Carolina. Fellow senior Matt Vanderbeek is finishing his golfing career at the University of Colorado–Colorado Springs as he competes in both the fall and spring seasons. Colorado Springs is a member of the NCAA Division II.
Junior Charlie Heck is in his third year with the Jamestown College (N.D.) football team, which competes in the NAIA.
Five sophomores return this year with more experience.
Cady Cordes is headlining for the Western Connecticut State volleyball team, an NCAA Division III program, while Kelsey Reibsamen is also competing in volleyball for Simpson, an NAIA school in Redding, Calif.
Haley Jorgensen is in her second year with St. Mary’s (Minn.) as she plays tennis in both the fall and spring seasons for the NCAA Division III school. Dalton Johnson is playing football at La Verne, an NCAA Division III school near Los Angeles, while former teammate Dylan Tedford is a sophomore wide receiver at Occidental College in L.A. Tanner Boone runs cross country in the fall and track in the spring at Great Falls, an NAIA program in Montana.
Several freshmen made their college debut this fall or are redshirting this season.
Five ex-Greenwave football stars are playing at Montana State-Northern. Tyson Ernst, Morgan Dirickson, Trent Tarner, Brendan Lewis and Dakota Schelling compete for the Lights, but only Tarner has registered stats this season.
Mary Scholtz is playing volleyball at the University of Dallas, an NCAA Division III program, while Erin Nelson is the goalkeeper for Pierce College, a two-year school in Los Angeles.
