In recognizing April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, become a part of the Pinwheels for Prevention campaign, a national movement to change the way residents approach prevention in their community.
The pinwheels planted in Fallon during April symbolize the happy healthy childhoods all children deserve. They also remind us of our ongoing responsibility to ensure every child has an equal opportunity for healthy growth and development.
Whether children will achieve their full potential as healthy, productive members of the community depends largely on each of us. Learn about the needs of children and families in our community, get involved in their lives and speak up on their behalf. Together the community’s residents can build a bright and prosperous future — one child at a time.
Join FRIENDS Family Resource Center and Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe for the planting of pinwheels at Millennium Park and an awareness walk to Fox Peak on April 25. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 9 a.m. Free Child Abuse Prevention T-shirts will be given to the first 125 participants who register for the free walk.
Following the walk, participants and attendees are invited to join the Earth day celebration at Oats Park; there will be fun activities, food and informational booths.
