Carson City Sheriff’s Log: Man arrested on suspicion of battery on a prisoner in Carson City Jail

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

Carson City

FRIDAY

At 9:56 a.m., a 22-year-old Mound House woman was arrested on suspicion of obstructing an officer after deputies conducted a check at Slotworld Casino. The woman was gambling without identification and lied to the officer about her name. Bail was set at $250.

At 1:17 p.m., a 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI-second offense, suspended registration and revoked driver’s license after deputies responded to a call about a possible intoxicated driver at the 2000 block of Carson Street. Bail was set at $3,050.

At 5:38 p.m., a 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of cell phone use, seat belt violation and a contempt of court warrant after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Roop Street and Fairview Drive. Bail was set at $370.

At 5:58 p.m., David Salazar, 44, of Dayton, was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and expired registration after a traffic stop. Bail was set $3,525.

At 6:43 p.m., Gregory Lara, 23, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of violation of parole and probation, a felony, after deputies initiated a traffic stop on Woodside Drive for an unregistered vehicle. No bail was set.

At 10:38 p.m., 33-year-old Reno woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI-first offense after deputies observed her speeding. Bail was set at $1,000.

At 10:53 p.m., a 38-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct after deputies observed a man running on Carson Street between lanes of traffic and yelling at cars and other pedestrians. Bail was set at $150.


SATURDAY

At 2:32 a.m., Corina Ruiz-Mora, 30, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, DUI-second offense and criminal contempt after deputies responded to a woman who was passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle at a Carson City motel. Bail was set at $5,500.

At 3:02 a.m., a 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace after deputies responded to a man brandishing a gun and firing into the air on Village Drive, then allegedly threatening his neighbors for calling the police. Bail was set at $100.

At 5:15 a.m., Stig Strong, 24, of Minden was arrested on suspicion of battery by a prisoner, a felony, after fight between two prisoners in the Carson City Jail. Bail was set at $20,000.

At 10:11 a.m., a 21-year-old Dayton man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, basic speed, and maintaining a single lane after deputies observed a vehicle speeding. Bail was set at $1,120.

At 6:35 p.m., a 48-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery-first offense in the 4000 block of Village Drive. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 9:15 p.m., a Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of battery after responding to a call in the 3500 block of South Carson Street. Bail was set at $1,000.

At 10:42 p.m., a 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an ounce or less of marijuana and criminal contempt violation and a 58-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of contempt of court after deputies initiated a traffic stop on Airport Road. Bail for the man was set at $1,100 and bail for the woman was set at $500.

At 11:57 p.m., Trevor Bergstrom, 30, of Sun Valley was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and expired registration. Samantha Benton, 27, of Reno was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail for Bergstrom was set at $3,525 and bail for Benton was set at $3,500.


SUNDAY

At 3:08 p.m., a 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery and violation of condition of parole after deputies responded to a call of a man trying to pull a female out of a car on the 1600 block of Carson Street. Bail was set at $6,000.

At 3:15 p.m., a 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of petit larceny and violation of suspended sentence and a 20-year old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of petit larceny after deputies were called to the Market Street Walmart after two people were reported passing by the checkout counters without paying. Bail was set at $1,250 for the man and $250 for the woman.

At 7:49 p.m., a 62-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of a failure to appear warrant, suspended registration and proof of insurance after deputies initiated a traffic stop on Como Street. Bail was set at $1,605.

At 9:07 p.m., a 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of destruction of property, minor in possession and two counts of arrest probationer after deputies were responded to reports of two males breaking windows at a residence in the area of Stanton Drive and Monte Rosa Drive. Bail was set $8,650.

MONDAY

At 12:02 a.m., a 54-year-old Oregon man was arrested in Carson City on suspicion of fugitive from justice. Bail was set at $50,000.

At 5:35 a.m., a 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of basic speed, license suspended or revoked, suspended registration, no proof of insurance, and three counts of failure to appear for traffic violations after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Carson Street and Silver Oak Drive. Bail was set at $4,619.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
