Mark William Jensen, age 59, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 in Carson City, Nevada after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born August 23, 1955, Mark grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and graduated from Wyoming (Michigan) High School. He pursued many vocational endeavors during his earlier years including car restoration, a truck-driving business with his father, and golf caddying in Monterey, California. He relocated to Reno, Nevada to embark upon a new career as a real estate mortgage broker and subsequently moved to Carson City where he resided for several years. Mark was an extremely kind and personable man, easily engaging in conversation with anyone. He had a creative entrepreneurial mind and was the quintessential “idea” man. He was involved in the Kiwanis Club of Carson City, the Capital Business Network Group and (BNI) Business Network International. As someone who had a passion to be active, Mark tremendously enjoyed the game of golf, was an avid sports fan, and loved a variety of animals and wildlife. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Paul and Marge Jensen; daughters Jessica DeVales and Jacqueline Mayfield; granddaughters Zara and Octavia; brothers Jon (Patti) Jasinski and Jeff (Linda) Jensen as well as many extended family members. Also surviving are his girlfriend of eight years Mary Bonar, and longtime friend Mike Riggs. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Mark’s life on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Carson City Elks Lodge, 515 North Nevada Street. Mark will be greatly missed, yet his exuberance for life and laughter endeared him to many and will remain his legacy to all who knew and loved him.
