The community is invited to attend Carson City Supervisor, Ward 1 Karen Abowd’s monthly walkabout on Friday, April 10, at Mills Park.

While constituents are invited to discuss any topics they feel are important to the progress of Carson City, Abowd is also seeking specifics about the kinds of arts events people would like to see developed and promoted.

“The arts in all the many expressions uplifts the spirit and is a way to multiply joy and create a more positive human experience,” she said. “We also have a wonderful opportunity to explore that many cultures represented in our area by presenting multicultural events, which foster understanding and connection between people of different experiences. I would love to see all the wonderful ways our community — both its artists and those who enjoy art — would be touched.”

Additionally, Abowd said, cultivating the arts will play a positive role in both the economy and in promoting Carson City as a diverse tourist destination.

To attend, meet at noon on Carson City Community Center’s steps. All are welcome to take a sack lunch.
