Because of a glitch with a computer server, the Nevada Department of Education suspended on Wednesday Criterion Referenced Tests for language arts and math in grades 3-8.

The problem also affects two other state, Montana and North Dakota.

Dr. Sandra Sheldon, superintendent of Churchill County schools, said the district began testing during the last week of March and resumed when students returned Monday from spring break.

“We had problems on the first day with identification codes inserted incorrectly,” she added.

According to the NDE, the test provider, Measured Progress, experienced a high volume of connections Tuesday afternoon.

Sheldon said she will be on a conference call today to find out more about the situation. The NDE said it would like to resume testing on Monday.
