Carson City Health & Human Services offering vaccination clinic for babies

Carson City Health & Human Services, in partnership with Immunize Nevada, is holding a free Baby Expo & Vaccination Clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at 900 E. Long St.

The event, geared for children ages 2 months to 6 years and their parents, is part of Nevada Infant Immunization Week. All recommended childhood vaccines will be available.

Medicaid, Nevada Check-Up and most insurances will be accepted. There will be a sliding fee for anyone uninsured.

Parents are asked to bring their children’s vaccination records, which can be accessed through their doctor or online at https://izrecord.nv.gov/public/WebCode/PublicPortal/Frame.aspx. Parents are also asked to bring their insurance cards and child’s vaccination records.

Healthcare professional recommend immunizing babies by age 2 to protect them from 14 serious childhood diseases, like whooping cough and measles. Parents are encouraged to talk to their child’s doctor to ensure that their baby is up to date on immunizations.
