Academic Year in the USA, or AYUSA, a non-profit organization that promotes global learning and leadership through cultural exchange and leadership programs for high school students from around the world, is looking for one family in the Carson City School District that can share its home with an international high school student for the 2015-2016 school year.

AYUSA foreign exchange students come from more than 60 countries. Proficient in English, the students are fully insured, and they bring their own spending money.

Host families provide three meals a day and a bedroom, either private or shared. Each student is supported by a trained representative from AYUSA who works with the family and student for the duration of the program.

The program welcomes all families to apply, including ones with or without children that reside in urban or rural communities. All host families must pass a criminal background check and a home visit by an AYUSA representative.

For more information or to apply to host a student, go to http://www.ayusa.org, or call Mark Struble at 775-721-8006.
