Margie Y. Groth

A service for Margie Y. Groth, 90, will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, April 22nd at the First Presbyterian Church in Carson City. Mrs. Groth was born in San Francisco to Stewart Riise and Yvonne Swindelle on December 22, 1924. Mrs. Groth passed away on April 13 with her family by her side. She married the love of her life, Lester H. Groth, on October 1st, 1943 and they celebrated 63 years together before his passing in 2007. She was a devoted, loving, and caring wife and mother and always gave all of herself to those who knew her. She was employed with the Carson City School District, the Nevada State Buildings and Grounds, enjoyed her volunteer work at the Carson City Senior Center, and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for 67 years. Among her survivors are: her daughter, Merrilee Dreeson of Yerington; son Dennis and Wife, Dina of Tuscon, AZ; Grandsons, Les Dreeson of Puyallup, WA and Buddy Dreeson of Reno, NV; and four great grandchildren, Brooke, Kellee, Lester, & Kyler.
