A 22-year-old Carson City man is accused of numerous sexual charges involving children.

Jacob Houser was arrested in Sacramento, Calif., July 8 and extradited to Carson City July 15 on suspicion of statutory sexual seduction.

Detectives discovered Houser allegedly had sexual intercourse with at least five female victims, the youngest being 12 years old. The incidents occurred between December 2014 and May 2015.

Detectives discovered the sexual assaults after one victim came forward and through interviews it was determined and confirmed Houser had relations with at least four other girls. It’s believed he found his first victim through Instagram.

“I believe he is a predator and I don’t think that he would have stopped until he was put away,” said Carson City Det. Salvador Acosta.

Houser is facing charges of three counts of sexual assault against a child under 14 years old, two counts of statutory sexual seduction and other sexual charges. Acosta said more charges are still being amended for additional booking while Houser is in jail.

With these charges and the severity of the crime, Houser could face a life sentence in prison. Houser’s bail is $1 million bail and he’s awaiting a preliminary hearing.

The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information should contact Carson City detectives at 775-887-2500.
