An introduction to watercolor workshop, under the direction of Teri Sweeney and taught by Ann Proffitt, will take students through the basics of watercolor from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Teri Sweeney Studios in Gardnerville.
Techniques such as wet into wet washes, gradated washes and Sweeney’s technique, “skippy” painting will be practiced and then applied to a painting of daisies which students will complete in the one day session. A reference photograph and a drawing to trace will be provided so that students can concentrate on learning to paint. The cost is $75. Materials are available for $10.
Proffitt and Sweeney teach weekly painting classes in oil and watercolor in Gardnerville and South Lake Tahoe. Sweeney is a nationally recognized artist whose work has been displayed in shows such as the C. M.
