Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Aug. 12. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:
Bleu Cafe, 244 E. Winnie Lane, scored 100 points.
Buffalo Wild Wings, 3815 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.
Elks Lodge, 515 N. Nevada St., scored 100 points.
Jacksons, 1615 E. Fifth St., scored 100 points.
Plaza Hotel & Event Center, caterer, 801 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.
Starbucks, 1410 E. William St., scored 100 points.
U.S. Submarine Base, 1894 E. Highway 50, Suite 10, scored 100 points.
Kentucky Fried Chicken, 2523 N. Carson St., scored 99 points. The floor and floor sink under a soda dispenser needed cleaning.
Plaza Hotel & Event Center, restaurant, 801 S. Carson St., scored 95 points. The high temperature dishwasher didn’t reach the required temperature in the final rinse cycle. The top of the dishwasher was coated with calcium residue.
McDonald’s, 3200 Market St., scored 92 points. The sanitizer dispenser at the three-compartment sink was well more than 400 parts-per-million. The basins of the three-compartment sink were not set up. Both sanitizer cloth storage buckets were missing measurable chlorine residual, corrected on site. The main ice machine in the kitchen and the ice machine over the customer soda dispenser were dirty. Biofilm was found on some nozzles of the customer soda dispenser.
Country Store, 3389 Highway 50 E., scored 84 points. Rodent feces were found in the rear dry storage area. Gaps — which could allow the entry of insects and rodents — were found at the bottom of the rear entry door. Biofilm was found in the ice machine. There was no self-closing device on the restroom door. There were no disposable paper towels in the dispenser at the restroom hand sink.
Siam Classic Thai Cuisine, 4250 Cochise St., scored 77 points. Eggs were stored above fruit in the walk-in refrigerator. A child was playing on a food preparation table before a staff member was found bathing the child in a food preparation sink. All foods were not stored in their original containers and were not labeled and dated. Biofilm was found on the walls of the ice machine. The ice scoop was found in the ice inside the ice machine. The waste storage containers were lidless. The kitchen ceilings were dirty. There was no certified food handler on duty.
